Ingredients
11 oz dry pasta of your choice (try to get good-quality pasta. Goods brands are Barilla or De Cecco. Can use gluten free pasta too.)
2 large heads of broccoli (about 14 oz)
6 tablespoons olive oil
2 peeled cloves of garlic, minced
½ teaspoon pepper or red pepper flakes
Salt to taste
Parmesan cheese for serving
Preparation
Wash and cut the broccoli heads into smaller pieces about 1 inch long
Cook the pasta in a large pot according to the bag’s instructions BUT:
About 2-3 minutes before the pasta has finished cooking, add the broccoli pieces into the water to cook them
Finish cooking the pasta and broccoli and then drain it
While the pasta is draining add the olive oil, pepper, minced garlic, and salt into the original pot you had boiled the pasta in
Let the “sauce” cook for about 5 minutes to infuse the flavor. Stir occasionally. Once this is done, turn off the heat under the pot.
Put the drained pasta and broccoli back into the pot and mix around to evenly coat the pasta with the sauce.
Add parmesan cheese once served, if desired.
Enjoy!
Storage Indications: You can store the pasta in a tupperware and microwave it to reheat.
