Ingredients

  • ½ a 1-foot long baguette (or any other type of bread)

  • 2 tomatoes (any type, recommended: Roma tomatoes)

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • ½ tablespoon salt or to taste

  • 1 tablespoon oregano or basil (fresh or dried)

  • 1 clove garlic (optional)

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 350℉

  2. Cut bread into the desired number of bread slices

  3. Place the bread on a rack in the middle of the oven for about 6 minutes, or until its color has darkened slightly and it has crisped-up

  4. Chop the tomatoes into cubes about the size of a dime

  5. In a bowl, mix the tomato cubes, oil, salt, and oregano/basil

  6. If desired, after the bread is out of the oven, rub the garlic clove on the slices a few times for extra flavor

  7. Place spoonfuls of the tomato mixture onto the bread

  8. Enjoy!
