Ingredients
½ a 1-foot long baguette (or any other type of bread)
2 tomatoes (any type, recommended: Roma tomatoes)
1 tablespoon olive oil
½ tablespoon salt or to taste
1 tablespoon oregano or basil (fresh or dried)
1 clove garlic (optional)
Preparation
Preheat oven to 350℉
Cut bread into the desired number of bread slices
Place the bread on a rack in the middle of the oven for about 6 minutes, or until its color has darkened slightly and it has crisped-up
Chop the tomatoes into cubes about the size of a dime
In a bowl, mix the tomato cubes, oil, salt, and oregano/basil
If desired, after the bread is out of the oven, rub the garlic clove on the slices a few times for extra flavor
Place spoonfuls of the tomato mixture onto the bread
Enjoy!
